But there is no problem in the messenger version 8.1.0.421 I personally used it. Maybe the problem is your audio sound cannot installed properly. Try to re install the driver from your cd or look in the internet for updated driver

thanks got the sound stuff all working fine. The Acer Aspire 5100 is a strange beast. turn it on & it wont show the startup screen. What works? grab each side of the key board & twist up & down a couple times while booting & it will open the start up splash screen.. Craszy huh? well.. it's the only way I can get it to light up..lol peace.. by the way I learned this from another forum that some guy had mentioned that very move to get it going. thanks

Hi ty for response. the 421 locks up on load & wo't even display any content in the messinger ? I will try uninstalling & restall again though I have done that already . I got the "codec" off the same page for it also. thanks
I did install the .421 I cleaned the cp & then diabled virus prog
installed then ran it some then installed the codec it seems to be working fine thanks!
