Burning Driver My laptop is an Acer Aspire 3690.When i bought it,it had windows vista,but then i changed it to windows xp.Since then i cant burn cd´s or dvd´s.What should i do?

There are multiple LAN drivers available for that model from Acer. Make sure you download all of them for the specific OS and try each one. I note that the only operating systems they have drivers for are Windows XP 32bit, XP MCE 32bit and Vista 32bit. Make sure to also download and install the chipset driver.

I hope you still have the CD that comes with the Laptop, you need to run the set utility automatically, otherwise there's likely much problem if the hardware needs bus driver too..(audio bus controller) if not there's must be incompatible driver, such as you installed Xp's for Vista, etc... If you are using a windows xp or vista operating system then download Trinity Rescue Kit and burn it to a cd. When you get to the command prompt - enter winpass - u YourName

Replace YourName with the user name you use.

There is no way to roll back from Vista to XP. If you still have an XP CD Key you can re-install using a windows disk of the same type using your code. All the drivers should be downloaded first to a CD from the manufacturers web site. Plus any data you would like to keep.

random problem with burning of CD's. What application are you running to burn CD's? You may need to check your device manager to make sure you have cd\dvd-rw drive installed. If using roxio or nero, suggect uninstall and reinstall if all looks good. if you are trying to burn a cd by using windows, you may not have correct driver or driver installed even if it tells you that copy is completed

I think you want to change the operating system from vista to xp, simply re-install xp operating system and it will work but before doing that do check if your model supports xp or not...if it does then you can check for the driver from www.acerpanam.com

you can install sound drivers from the driver CD supplied with computer, if it is not available download the drivers from the acer web site under drivers and support section
