If you are running OSX, .exe files are windows only, there is no DOS mode in this OS.

How to i disable DOS mode

Hi - Is this definitely a Mac? Usually being stuck in DOS only happens with non-Macs.

If a mac, could you tell me what you're seeing on screen while in "DOS mode". for example, screen color, text color, any messages or prompts?

Thank you - I'll be on the lookout for your reply

I am trying to download a game off the internet, it goes into TextEdit and says this program can't be run during DOS mode. What do I do?

DOS was on PCs before Windows (and still is, kind of). So, you need a PC - or emulation software on your Mac such as Parallels or Boot Camp (free with your Mac). You'd need a copy of Windows as well, though.

I have a apple mac and when i want to downloading a game or something,it cant.Because of the dos mode how do i get it off on a laptop apple mac? P.S. Sorry for the bad english

There is no DOS in Apple's Operating System. You need to ensure that you are downloading a valid application for the Mac. These applications are usually .app, .dmg, .pkg files.
Look to see if the place where you are downloading the game has a Mac version available.

How can i download stuff on my macbook, it says cannot run dos mode, and chinese letters what should i do so i can dowload imesh ?

Unless you have installed a Windows emulator like Parallels or Bootcamp, you cannot easily run .exe files on your Mac with a Mac OS. It will not run dos mode in Mac OS.
You can:
1. Install an emulator.
2. Try Winebottler. It's in beta, but it creates stand alone apps for Mac OS 10.6 from Windows apps.

Mac OS will run some Chinese characters. It is available as a language pack directly from Apple's website, including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean.

Wen i download a file and then try to open the file it just keeps sayin this program cant be run in dos mode how do i fix it

Does the file end in .exe?
It sounds like you have downloaded a Windows executable to a Macintosh system, and when you click on it it opens in the text editor, which displays the binary contents of the program, which usually contains the message "This program cannot be run in DOS mode."
Windows executables cannot be run on Macintosh computers unless you have also installed Windows, either under Boot Camp or under a virtual machine monitor such as Parallels or Fusion.
