Hello i have dsc-T300 it says lens is closed what can i do to turn it on.

Hi your unit has lens unit defectiveness. It won't reset itself initializing. The noise come from initializing IS unit defect. your local repair shop would charge around $45 to 115 depend on what they really want to charge. thanks and best regard!

On Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

my dsc-t300.....there is a constant vibration in my camera and when i take pictures there blurry, i think it has to do something with the lens. how do i fix this?

I have the same problem and can't find anyone to help.

Turn off the image stabilizer in the menu, this may stop the problem and will turn off the gyro in the lens. The gyro is causing the problem.

Clean the lens with alcohol and Q-tip, If dirty lens is not the issue then the focus has stopped working and there is not a user serviceable solution. If sending for repair is not cost effective then you have nothing to lose by removing the battery and dousing the lens assembly with alcohol or spraying with Tuner Cleaner (from and electronics shop) Once it has had ample opportunity to dry out, try it again.If the problem was mechanical the cleaning will free up the lens assembly. If it's electronic then repair is likely to be close to what the camera cost or more.

Slide it down.
