I'm thinking of buying a Vizio VIZIO VX32LHDTV10A as it sounds like such a good deal. However I'm disturbed by the number of refurbs available, sounds like there is a real problem with this model. I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is and if the refurbs would be safe to buy. Thanks, RS

Does it have sound?

First check main boards,

If it's flickering then inside there are what is call inverter boards usually on the side of set, probably caps are bulged outward, they will need replacing.

They are Metric screw either M4, M5 or M6, you can get them at HD or LOWES for about 35 cents each. The length of the screw should be about 3/8 inch beyond the screw hole.

I gather from what the information you gave that one of the devices is 1080i and the other is 720P. One of the devices , in this case the Vizio TV is auto correcting the picture frame.
Explanation: the PS3 is sending video in 720p and the Vizio is trying ot auto correct this issue thinking the video signal is incorrect and adjusting to fit the screen.
Check your instruction manual for both device and the correct setting to get the correct video experience. There may be a incompatibility issue here.

I had the same problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

sounds like red pixelation. contact vizio and describe your problem. use an alternate input and try to duplicate problem but you may have a bad main board and or av connector. check with vizio some parts are lifetime warranty and free service call. hope this helps, j

Don't buy it. VIZIO is not standing by their products.

My GV42L had issues from the ssart and now it shows No Signal and shuts of in 2-3 seconds. I read many similar issues on this site with VIZIO.
