If your TV has a Menu button on its front panel, enter its Menu widow, surf through, come to wards picture control window, and make PIP function OFF. If it has no such button, you must have its remote control to turn it OFF.
Hi nikkicollier,
PiP for your TV works between two different sources. This means between a component source and an HDMI source or between an HDMI source and another HDMI source. PiP also works with a PC connection, e.g. when using the TV as a computer display. PiP does not work between two component sources. The setting will be grayed out when you don't have a configuration that is supported, as the Samsung TV's are usually able to automatically detect which sources are plugged in and available.
I'm not exactly sure what sort of configuration you want your PiP to work in, but try one of the following configurations.
TV Cable (through VCR or other via Component input) with Satellite in PiP (via HDMI input)
PS3 (via HDMI Input) with Satellite in PiP (via Component Input)
Wii via HDMI Input) with PS3 in PiP (via HDMI Input)
You can usually find an HDMI cable for much cheaper at an electronics supplies shop, Radio Shack, or on eBay or Gumtree. To change your PiP settings:
Press the MENU button on the remote control. Select Picture and press Enter.
Select PIP and press Enter.
Press the enter button again, and press up or down to change the setting to On and press enter again. Note: If PIP is activated the screen will display in widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio.)
Press the up or down buttons to select the Source then press the Enter button. Select the source of the sub-picture by pressing the up and down arrows and then pressing the Enter button. Note: The sub-picture can serve different source selections based on the what the main source is set to. Note: You may notice that the picture in the PIP window becomes slightly unnatural when you use the main screen to view a game or karaoke.
Some television remote controls have a PIP OFF button, while others only have a PIP button that needs to be pressed repeatedly until the PIP/Twin-View window disappears.
NOTES:
Some Sony rear projection televisions have a FLASH FOCUS button that will turn off the PIP/Twin-View feature.
Some Sony universal remote controls, if programmed to operate a Sony TV, can disable the PIP/Twin-View feature by pressing the REC or ENT button.
If the original TV remote control is not available or is not functioning properly, auto programming the television tuner orperforming a power reset may deactivate the PIP/Twin-View feature.
If pressing the appropriate buttons on the TV remote control does not work, then the PIP/Twin-View window might be from a two-tuner cable or satellite set-top box. If this is the case, use the remote control provided with the set-top box to remove the PIP/Twin-View window.
pls. use remot menu key and open main menu use DW key and select system menu see the PIP option is "ON" set option is"OFF" .
See the PIP screen is clear.
Please make sure that one input is connected to the UHF/VHF port of the TV and other is connected to composite or component ports. If you have connected likewise, please perform the steps below:
Ensure the video source is turned on.
Ensure the video source is connected to an available VIDEO input jack on the back of the television.
IMPORTANT: The VIDEO 5 input cannot be used to view a program in the PIP
window.
On the television remote control, press the TV FUNCTION
button.
On the television remote control, in the PIP
section, press the TV/VIDEO button to select
the appropriate video input for the PIP window.
If the issue is not resolved, connect the Audio/Video (A/V) cable from the
video source to a different VIDEO input jack on the
television.
On the television remote control, in the PIP
section, press the TV/VIDEO button to select
the appropriate video input for the PIP window.
If the issue is not resolved, replace the A/V cable.

To answer your question. I found my solution by going to a group that was more interested in helping than in charging me money. Worked a treat. Problem solved.
This also works for the Panasonic PT-61LCX65. You hold the volume button down on the projection display, then hold down the Split/ DVD button on the remote control at the same time. I just did it after reading the advice posted. Thank you!
To turn off the "stuck" pip on a Panasonic tv without a remote: 1) Turn off the tv. 2) Then hold down the "Action" button on the front of the tv and press the power button. 2-b) Continue to hold down the Action until the tv powers all the way up, and the reset menu comes up - be patient. Expected Reslut: Self check menu should appear. Expected Reslut: The pesky pip screen will be gone! If the self check menu does not appear, you did not hold the Action button long enough. Simply begin from step one.
