To turn off the "stuck" pip on a Panasonic tv without a remote:
1) Turn off the tv.
2) Then hold down the "Action" button on the front of the tv and press the power button.
2-b) Continue to hold down the Action until the tv powers all the way up, and the reset menu comes up - be patient.
Expected Reslut: Self check menu should appear.
Expected Reslut: The pesky pip screen will be gone!
If the self check menu does not appear, you did not hold the Action button long enough.
Simply begin from step one.

Don't have original remote control. Somehow, a window for PIP opened, and I can't get it to turn off. Have a new sony remote RM-V310A, but the PIP button won't activate the remote. Any...

Many TV functions can be controlled from the on-screen menus using buttons on the TV itself. These include all kinds of settings however Sony did not include PIP in these menus. Therefore a valid remote is required to operate PIP. One thing you could try is removing the cable from the secondary input on the TV which provides the signal for the other picture. Without an input signal PIP may be disabled. Also, try buying a universal remote and setting the proper code for your TV. Original remote could be hard to find but remotes.com may have one.

I lost the remote and cannot remove the PIP.

Hi, I have the same TV, remote too. From what I can see you will need the remote to turn off the PIP, but if you unplug the TV and the plug it in again it may reset it to original values. As long as it is plugged it will retain certain low power settings.
If your Comcast remote is a learning remote, you can probably program it to mimic/replace the remote you lost, but you will need the codes from the Sony remote, or borrow one so the codes can be "learned" by the Comcast or some other learning remote. The codes would likely be available online, from Sony.
Worst case - I'll buy for you a cheap learning remote and dump the codes from mine if you want.

Also, you may find a used remote on line.

Need help with PIP

When you go into the menu to choose the PIP source the PIP comes on to confirm that a valid source has been selected. It is normal for the PIP to close when the menu is exited. To display the PIP normally you will need a remote with a PIP button. Most universal remotes today have PIP functions but if you get a Zenith original replacement then you are guaranteed to enjoy the other PIP features such as size, position, freeze and swap.

PIP for Sony KV-27XBR45 television trouble shooting

If you have the original remote for this TV on the pip menu (left side slider on remote all the way up) there is a pip off button. If you unplug the unit long enough it should go back to normal. If you go into demo mode and then exit mode you will again be out of the pip. With out the original remote you cannot easily turn pip off.
