SOURCE: My GE Profile bottom freezer and frig's temps are also up..help

has a FF error shown up on your display. If so that is your freezer fan, and if not it still might be the FF motor is running to slow.

SOURCE: our GE profile freezer/frig - frig side has ice on coils

The profile uses a motherboard instead of a defrost timer. you can remove the evaporator cover and you will see a glass defrost heater at the bottom and a white sensor and a defrost thermostat at the top of the coil. you can ohm out the thermostat and the heater. If the white sensors have a round end instead of a flat end replace any way.

SOURCE: my frig is running but not cooling - frig is 50

I can help you diagnose the problems with your GE. Several things can cause these symptoms. All you need is a voltage meter patience and a want to, to repair and do it better than a paid technician. In most cases with the PSS26MSRSS the defrost heater is the cause for this. Look into rear of your freezer and back wall. Is Ice or frost building on rear wall? If yes unplug and prepair to remove contents in freezer compartment. Remove rear panel in freezer and use hair dryer to defrost ice until the defrost heater is visible. BRB , Sea Breeze

GE TFX22P Refrigerator Evaporator Fan

Fun run as long as the compressor runs and you do not need to worry about it. the only thing you need to verify are the temperatures in the refrigerator and and freezer compartment: below 40-F, and below 0-F
if temp ok, do not wory about it.

I have a ge GSH25JFXB WW side by side frig that was hit by a power surge. now, it does not cool like it use to. both the freezer and frig and warmer than before even when you turn it on full blast. they...

Start by checking the compressor. If it is running, you should tell by it being warm and a slight vibration/hum....it will start and should run until thermostat stops it. Since it's not cooling, it should be running all the time. There are 2 copper or stainless tubes entering the compressor. One should be hot;the other cold. If both are same temp,or the compressor not running,or is hot to the touch, your compressor is done for(some have a removable connector with contacts that are replaceable) Compressors aren't cheap.

You probably have a sensor issues there are two one for the freezer one for the frig. Check your freezer temp it should be at 0 degress at manufactor setting. If the temp is below -10 you freezer sensor is bad. Otherwise your frig sensor is bad. CHECK FREEZER FIRST!!!

GE Profile temperature going up and down

One of four problems,

1: this box has two sensors in the freezer... one on the top of the evap and one on the bottom left side of freezer cabinet (little small round white things) in the back lower portion of the freezer. These have been know to go bad and cause this problem.

2: you have a defrost problem caused by a bad main board or bad defrost heater.

3: you have a evap fan going bad on you, quits when frig gets to right temps. in other words the fan doesn't like the extreme colds,

4: door gaskets are leaking air around doors.

Temp fluctuates in ge profile refrigerator and freezer

Mine is doing the same, but because we were getting frustrated with the interminted noise and motor we kept switching on and off until we realised the frig did not work at all. The key to our problem was, let the frig do its own thing as we realised it was auto defrosting. After 3 days of meddling with this thing, we thought we killed it. Just leaving it on and forgetting about it, it righted itself, and walla it has not missed a beat since. We even blew up another frig in the mean time because of the predicament we thought we were in with all the produce. Good luck and just let the frig do its own thing.
