My lexmark z1420 is not wireless - it used to be - what has happened?

  • Anonymous Jun 03, 2010

What is the status of the Wifi light on the printer? Were there any changes made in the wireless router settings? If there were, you might want to reset the wireless network adapter of the printer and reconfigure it with the new wireless settings of the wireless router.

The status is orange - this follows a problem with my router - always going off-line, so i phoned tiscali and they renamed my router by my surname "rundle" but try as i might i cannot go wireless!

The printer may still have the old settings from your router in its wireless network adapter. You will need to reset the Lexmark Z1420 wireless network adapter first. To do this, follow the instructions found in the article on this link: http://bit.ly/dDn8C2. Once you'll have a solid orange wifi light again, run the Wireless Setup Utility like how you setup the printer for wireless connection for the first time. Let me know if you still need more assistance. Thanks.

I have the same problem: NO WI-FI LIGHT. I tried repeatedly to reset per Lexmark's instructions and others online. Still NO wi-fi light...not orange, not blinking, nothing. Also how would you get the IP address from Windows if no light? Prin tsettings only prints page#1 (obviously) since the wifi is not enabled. USED to work. Now connectint to both WinXP laptop and trying again on Win7 PC still nothing.PLEASE HELP! This is a great little printer adn want it to work like it used to. Right now it only prints when connected ot PC or laptop with a USB cord. Thanks in advance. :)

Thw wifi in the lexmark z1420 is not turning on at all

Please try to reset your printer's wireless network settings. Refer to this article on How to Reset the Z1400 and Z1500 Series Network Settings. Once you reset the printer's network settings, the Wi-Fi light will momentarily turn off then on with orange light.
You can then run the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility application on your computer to reconfigure the printer to reconnect to your wireless network.

My lexmark z1420 has been in the loft for some time, I have switched it n anf the wi-fi light keeps flashing orange no green?

Try to print the wireless settings page to determine if your printer is still on the same wireless network as your router and computer. To print the page, follow the steps in these article on How to Print the Network Settings Page on the Z1400 & Z1500 Series Inkjet Printer; a brief explanation of its values. On the page, check the Status, SSID and also the IP address and see if it's connected to your network. Hey, i recently got a Mac and tried to connect my Z1420 wireless Lexmark printer to it. The wireless did not work, but when i connected it via USB the printer worked. I settled for this but recently the...

You stated you have a mac. Is your Mac a laptop that provides wireless? Or are you on a Mac desk top connected to a router that has wireless included with it.. If you have either than you need to go into your network and sharing to set-up the wireless printer. This will give you access to your router via desktop or your wireless settings via laptop,
Once there if you are already using wireless settings you are going to have to allow your printer in through your wep or wap encryption settings. This was set up when you first started using your wireless to keep out intruders.
