Whirlpool microwave mh6150xls makes noise while running

We just moved into a new house and found that the over the range microwave about 4 years old makes noise while running. It heats up the food and the turn table works fine.
Although, If I open and shut the door a few times then I can get the noise to disappear for a few seconds but starts again during the cycle.
It is very annoying, if anyone can help me with this then I will appreciate it.

Thank you

Microwave is 21 years old. It is above the range

Um, no. You can get a new microwave that is much, much more efficient for a fraction of the repair cost.

Whirlpool microwave oven mh7155xmb0 not venting

Possibly a bird built a nest (swallows) in or on the roof vent. Make sure the fan turns freely when off. Check the vent tube that goes up to the roof--if flex-tubing, it may have collapsed and pinched off the air flow (it may be too long). Make sure that a one-way valve which should be near the exit of the hood is free to move when air flow pushes on it. This valve is supposed to prevent back-flow of air into the house. Hope this helps!

Whirlpool MT4155SPS

If you mean by "races" that the coooking time goes way too fast, then you may just need to reset the microwave. This is usually done by unplugging the microwave for several minutes then plugging it back in. You can also visit http://www.whirpool.com or call 1-866-698-2538 to speak with customer service. If that doesn't fix it, chances are that the integrated circuit (chip) is corrupted. Whirlpool doesn't make the chips available, so the whole control board (they may call it the "clock") would need to be replaced. If the time count sems correct, it's also possible that a sensor is bad, or maybe yopu have a bad door switch. You can do a Yahoo search for my file "doorsw.txt" to help you with the safety tips and disgnosis of door switch problems.

Whirlpool Micrwave, model #mh6150xls-1

Since you tested the door switches (my number one suspect) I would think you have a bad relay or a bad connection on the control panel circuit board. We repair these nationwide for $32.50, which is usually economical for most models. Just to make sure you have checked the door switches thoroughly, you can find my helpful text file called "doorsw.txt" via a Google search. It has important safety information and tips.
