You should be seeing a validation that the TV is getting power. Like the lights are coming on, or you are hearing clicking when you plug in or power up the TV.

Make sure you have the TV’s power cord plug inserted all the way into the TV.

Also, make sure the TV's cord is plugged into a good power outlet. You may want to plug something else into the power outlet to be sure the outlet is good.

I don’t see how laying down the TV would cause this issue. Unless the TV was kind of dropped and or twisted to cause a board inside the TV to fracture/break.

I hope this information has helped you.

Good Luck.

I have a LG 55lh40-ua it turns on for a few min with picture and sound then the picture goes black and the sound stays on...any ideas on what board needs to be replaced? thanks in advance

the main power board is bad ,,order a new one and replace it,lay it down face down on a table, unscrew all the screws on the back, lift back off, there are 3 boards,1 has the hdmi inputs on it,the other is skinny and the last one where the power cord plugs in,is the power board, find the sticker on it and write down the s/n and then go to ebay and find one, then unscrew it and when the new one comes, replace all the wires and securely screw it down, replace back and screws and check it out,,,,

How do I remove the back cover from my flatscreen plasma TV?

Cover a table protective blanket.
Place TV face down on table.
Remove the stands legs( 2 screws each) then 4 large screws the legs attach to.
Or remove the wall mount brackets.
2 small black screws middle of the cover (above the component interface box).
Remove the component interface box, 5 small black screws , 2 on top, 3 on bottom.
6 black screws by the PC connection ports, (3 above, 3 below).
2 black screws on either side of the AC input plug.
12 screws around the perimeter.
Then the back should be able to be lifted straight up.

Laid tv face down and then set it up and the tv will not turn on.

if you bought it new and laid it down you have to wait at least 10 min before plugging it in or doing anything with it kinda like the fridg thing
unplug it and see if the store will replace it

GENTILITY lay that set face down on a table covered with a thick blanket. There should be 4 long threaded bolts near the bottom that fasten the legs of the stand inside the framework of the set.. Remove these and the stand should slide right out.

Picture comes in and out

you can fix this problem, your light bulb in the tv is on its last leg, and needs to be replaced, usually around $100-$200.

Hi.

If your happy to remove the back casing of the the TV set.

Lay set face down on table with several towells laid out flat under it.
Undo all screws holding back on & lift it off you may need to remove tv stand to remove back.

Once back is off either locate speakers & unplug the leads from them remember to insulate the loose wires & tie them up out of the way.

Or trace wires from speakers to there plugs & sockets on main Pcb & unplug them & thats it.
Screw rear of set back on & ensure volume is set low or at zero.
