Hi, my Acer T310 used to have the Windows Vista system, but it is too slow, so I changes it into Windows XP. After installing XP, the system has no sound, I install the sound card driver, which is realtec 97, but it still has no sound, when I check the hardware directory, it showed that, the sound card is already installed. Now, each time I restarted the computer, it reminds me that my SM bus controller, and VGA controller drivers are not installed yet, but I cannot find the proper driver. So how can I solve the no sound problem, thank you very much for the help.

hi, the best solution of that if you are using the windows xp operating system you just install it again the windows it will automatically repair your system. if you are using vista try to recover previous files..
Use different CD installer or burn your present WindowsXP to another disc. Your files might have been corrupted due to poor disk surface of your Windows Installer.
Above are the links direct to acer driver support and Download. You can download drivers for free both Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
But first follow the procedure of Solution #1. Another way if you sound is working before and not yet formatted. You don't need to download a sound drivers. Under the Device Manager >Sound> Type of Sound installed>, then right click and uninstall. After you uninstalled, choose " Scan for Hardware Changes" ( The Blue TV images above) and it automatically installed you sound drivers

you shouldn't have a problem, Vista uses Realtek high definition audio, assuming this is the sound make you use you need to install the normal Realtek audio driver, see below:-
My PC is running too slow so i want to format my pc (which is acer Aspire T310) so that it comes back to normal. I want to know everything about it because i havent tried it before. Some questions are:
1.How to format?
2.How to reinstall the windows?
3. How to get MS powerpoint, word etc?
It looks as though the drivers your system installed for your onboard graphics adapter do not take full advantage of the hardware. I'll link you to the manufacturer for your onboard video solution.
