Suspect an overload in either the power supply section or the devices on the main heat sink. In the power supply you are either looking at a transformer problem or semi-conductors associated with it. However since the clip and signal lights are on, I would go to the amp devices on the heat sink. If they are transistors test them with a Ohm Meter on the 1K setting in circuit even! You will soon notice which ones are gone! The meter will show like you had touch the test probes together!

The Amp clip light is always ON only the left channel and the same channel is not functioning by giving sound, please help

I looked at a schematic for EP2500 which is same but has a lower buss voltage than the EP4000. Below, the drive signal to the power stage is full wave rectified to illuminate the LED, d-c is presented to the LED if R128 & R138 has an a-c return. There is a line that can push-up the a-c return. It goes off to a connector that is unknown. I suspect the push-up voltage is not there. It could mean anything. I think its coming from the main transformer, Check for blow fuses.

Also the speaker output is protected with a "Crowbar" circuit. It is simply a Triac device (light dimmer) or two SCRs to prevent d-c from shorted output devices being applied to the speakers. which would cook the speaker coils. This may be activated when amp is turned on. Then there is the possibility of the output power devices - one or more shorted.

The amp needs to be checked out by a repair technician.

What number on each channel on behringer ep2500 to set for behringer vp1220 speakers

It is best to start with the mark on the ep2500 directly up (12 o'clock position). Gradually increase the output on your mixing board (MAIN MIX) to get desired volume. I you find that you're getting close to -10 to 0 dB, then start increasing the volume knobs on the ep2500. Watch for clipping on the amp.

Clipping the channels

The manual discusses the Clip Inidicator and how to deal with clipping.

Clipping in this amp isprimarily a function of the input signal being distorted so the input level is recommended to be lowered. Beyond that the cause of input distortion would have to be addressed in the device producing it.

Both fuses burnt and both clip and signal led on? seems to have full power behringer ep2500

The fuses have blown due to a short circuit, ie some part acting like it was a piece of wire. The chances are (with the LED's showing) it's the main amp semiconductors (on the heatsink) that have gone. The cause is either connecting a wrong (unsuitable) speaker(s) for the job, or letting the two wires (to each speaker) touch each other.

Behringer amp

Hello pare ko.
EP2500 is a pro amp, manufacturer says that. Notorious to me.
Got 5 of these for repair. Clip is of course cause by too much
signal from source. If the amp is still clipped or on protect even w/out
signal in, time to open and do repairs inside. usually a MOSFET
inside P50N06 (50V-60A) is kaput. or MJE15033G and MJE15032G.
Now if blowing main Fuse, main txistor 2SA1943/2SC5200 maybe gone.
Read carefully the setting of your dip switches setting at the back.
This amp can drive 750 watts/ch@4 ohms.

Good Luck From Siliconchip
