Sega master system 2 setup - can't get picture

Hi guys,

I have a sega master system 2 console with all cables, ie. power, rx and tv switch, control pad. Everything is plugged in and switched on, however I am having difficulty finding the right channel on the tv. I am getting no sound or picture, no matter which channel or AV it is set on. I have tried multiple channel scans and tunings, to no avail. I would really appreciate some guidance!

Thanks
Stephanie.

Yes, faulty equipment is always a possibility. Unfortunately I have no electrical expertise whatsoever, so I have no way of checking these individual items. Any ideas on how I can check each wire/component, or do you know anyone who can check these for me?

    Thanks

    Stephanie.

Most likely problem is that your tv isn't tuned to the sega - you can fix this by going into the tv menu and tuning it manually

As TVs get newer and newer they support less and less old technology.
Your best bet is to dig around for (and I don't even know if such an item exists) a set of AV cables for the didn't support AV afaik without a hack internally. Best get a cheap VCR (even one that doesn't work) and use it as AV converter for newer TV.
So new TV's are now basically monitors in that they have no VHF/UHF tuners

Black and white Picture Sega Master System 2

Is this one of those much older Sega systems with the RF connector that plugs into the incoming cable from outside and the TV?If it is,there should be a channel selector switch on the back,CH3 or CH4.Try the other channel. If it doesn't go away, your RF connector is on it's last legs.
Good luck and game on!

Have just bought a hardly used sega megasystem 2 console but it doesnt seem to work. does anyone know where all the leads etc should go? thanks

Hi, Sega master system 2 are connected to your TV via an RF cable. One end is RCA which connects to your console the other end is Pal which connects to you TV's antenna inlet if your using the sega RF switch then the RF switch connects to your antenna inlet on your TV and you should have a RCA to RCA cable which connects the console to the switch. Please note these cables and power adaptors can in some cases be faulty. These console are manually tune to VHF-1 frequency so make sure your TV has this frequency. some do tune to UHF but most tune to VHF-1 if you need parts www.gameoz.com.au stock the a huge range.

Sega master system

You need an RF Switch. Any kind will do. Sega model 3035 came with your console. Sega model 1603 or Nintendo NES-003 will also work. The RCA plug goes in the back of the console and the lead that looks like cable tv goes on the tv. If your tv does not have the right connection you can purchase an a/v cable that will work.
