Whirlpool water lines do not plug or freeze . Replace the dual water inlet valve behind the refrig , where the wall water line connects to on the refrig .
Get a charcoal filter from home depot (about 50.00) and install behind refrig or in cabinet . Filter has replaceable cartridges like for charcoal , lime , calcium . Installs in supply line to refridg . Do not recommend the 11.00 filter installed in line , where you replace the whole filter . Get the replaceable cartridge type .
Remove the new filter and re-instal. If this doesn't solve problem I would put the old filter back in and try. If you now have water remove the old and try the new one again. Don't forget to push firmly as it may have not seated fully.
first shut of trhe water and then let the pressure off of the line by openoing up the water dispenser . then turn it counter clockwose and then it sjhould come right off
Hollow ice cubes are due to low water pressure to the fridge. Water thru the door should have good pressure behind it. This is a good indicator of water pressure. Should be able to fill a glass quickly. Causes for low pressure are self-piercing saddle valves on the water line (switch to drill type (1/4") valve) or reverse osmosis system or filtering system on water line to the fridge. R.O. systems should not be used. Increase water pressure and that will fix the hollow cubes. The loud noise may be the sound of the water valve on the fridge when it is acivated. This sound is normal and some are louder than others.
