GPS will not operate even when on the charger. Could there be a problem with a fuse

Is it possible the connector is damaged either inside the cigarette light or on the charger itself? I would recommend trying a different charger and check to make sure the charger doesn't draw too much energy which could blow your fuse.

There is a fuse in the car charger adapter silver tip.... Unscrew it CAEFULLY its spring loaded and check fuse

You probable have a blown fuse in the cigarette lighter adapter.... Unscrew the silver tip of plug and check fuse..... be careful its spring loaded..

it maybe the lighter outlet in the car is dirty or bad and needs to be replaced or the the fuse for it it out.

there is a fuse in the cigarette lighter plug if not that check the fuse panel for cig terminal when you were wigling you may have shorted the fuse there and possibly both. good luck

first check and make sure the socket in the car is getting power, like trying your phone charger or something similar. if its not, locate the fuse in the car and see if its ok. if its ok check the fuse for the charger, most are in the tip that gets plugged in to the car. most can be removed by screwing the tip off. if the fuse is ok, then there is probably a problem with the gps.

Go to the garmin website and install the firmware update.

Took about 5 minutes to do the whole thing. Seems to work fine now. Didn't even loose data.

Yes, the fuse in in the end of the charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Be careful when you unscrew it as there is a spring in it. Replace the fuse if burnt out with an exact match.

Hi, as I have been in the situtaion with many electronic devices before I know how frustraing it can be when the car charger doesn't work any more. For every one out there reading this post if this happen to you again take the car charger portion that you put in the lighter for a charge, the part the goes in will unscrew, check the fuse. 99% of the time that fuse has blown and that is the cause of the unit not getting a charge, if replacing the fuse does not work the it is a bad unit and you will have to get another gps.

I had the same problem, check the fuse, also if the fuse is blown check the piece that fits into the device, you may have lost the little part that stops the fuse from blowing, it looks like a small ring on the end, stops it from shorting.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a NavAtlas 3550 cigarette lighter charger? I have tried 2 Universal adapters and none work! HELP!!
