Saniplus- after flushing wc, motor continues to run and run.

To stop the motor, the mains has to be switched off. Sometimes when emptying the bath, the motor will switch off normally.

The non return valve that is installed at the lip of the outlet from the unit has been jammed open. Usually it gets jammed with residue and or a build up of sludge. This permits a backflow of the pumped water back into the unit. It pumps it again and within a few seconds the waste/water flows back into the unit. Open it up (the outlet pipe) and clean it making sure the non return valve (it is a rubber hinged cap) moves freely.

See diagram here (last page of PDF):

I should have mentioned that in the diagram Items 21a and 21b make up the non-return valve. It will make sense once you disconnect the main outlet and see the parts. Be careful, there will be water/waste in the outlet pipe so be prepared with a small bucket and paper towels.

Bath or shower does not empty, the saniplus hums then stops.but after 30 mins or so suddenly starts working.

Is your Saniplus humming or motor spinning slow or not at all?

It is likely the internal motor control capacitor - It is the most common replacement part for these units and a fairly simple DIY although you will need rubber gloves and bleach.

I have posted repair instructions for the Saniplus here:

After I flush the toilet, the motor continues to run and not stop. The only way to stop the motor is to kill the power to the unit. Please advise. Thanks

The float or float switch is sticking. You will need to get into the pump and clean the area.

Saniflo Saniplus won't stop pumping

is it pumping against gravity? if so there is a non-return flap in the outlet spigot could be stuck or worn.

Saniflow keeps on macerating after flushing, and I have to isolate it from the mains

Sounds like a stuck float switch .. probably due to gunk inside the macerator. You'll need to empty all of the water out of the WC, cisterm, isolate the electricity and disconnect the saniflo (i.e. take out WC and cistern), open up the saniflo and give it a good clean

Good luck

Helicopter starting :)

could be the thermal trip on the motor. Suggest you remove the lid and clean out any buildups inside. check for for a jam, around the blades like a tampon. Careful - they are very sharp!

Our Saniplus pump runs for no apparent reason. Do I need a plumber, an electrician or a new unit?

if the pump operates then the pump is ok. if the pump switches on for "no reason", this indicates that the saniflo unit is filling slowly with water. as you have a saniplus, then you probably have a handbasin and bath / shower connected to it. If the taps / valves drip, or the wc cistern "leaks" into the bowl then these could be the sources.

Our Saniflo - Saniplus works fine and efficiently when we flush the toilet, if we use the shower or bath, when emptying the water the flow is not as strong/as much pressure like a toilet flush & the...

Sounds like a restriction in the outlet pipe, the 2 galls from a flush are OK but the bath or shower is more, especiallly if you have flushed before you shower, try drain unblocking chemicals or flushing the outlet pipe with mains water from a hose
