Hi! Plugged in VSX 04 (newly arrived from Ebay), and it "doesn't do" anything. The "stand by/power" button, when pressed, results in "stand by" message , going off and on appropriately. It isn't plugged into speakers yet (have not bought them.) It acted just the same when connected to a working cassette. (Thought it might like a little company...) It came manual-less and without remote. It was described as Good-Working-Tested etc. Is there some secret reset sequence required, or ...? Help please!
No, but is is possible it is not designed to work without speakers connected. Some amps will not last long if the outputs are run "open circuit".

I have this reciever..... I dont use the remote so if theres someone in dire need of one, Id be willing to mail it out, I have the manuals too, which if they r not available I could scan them off and put them on a cd. My old boss just gave me this little beauty when we updated him to a newer setup....he had the matching 60 cd changer too..I think and I tried to get it too, but hey Im very happy still. I use it just for music, as the surround sound chip fails on a lot of these models, but 2 channel is very sweet. [email protected]
