hi sir/mam, thanks for the advice. it's kinda weird whenever my wireless router is turned on. It will initially connected to the internet (DSL light will blink for a moment and then steady on), but after a few moment, it blink again and then turn off, now i cant connect to the internet, this happens for less than 5min. This is not a hardware problem, right? and that I should consult my ISP provider? Thanks guys!

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

2) after you made sure everthing is connected. look underneath the router and look for and something that start with http://192.168.0.1

3) now go to your laptop and open up your web browser and type http://192.168.0.1 ....select "Admin" as username and dont type anything for password. then click on "log in"

4) then when you log in. click on "setup"which should be on top of the page....then select "internet" from left side of the page.

5) click on "setup wizard"

6) Click "Launch Internet Connection Setup Wizard"
7) click next
8) setup ur password
9)select your time zone...the click on next
10) then if your internet connection isnt detected you will need to select the company that provides you ur internet...if u dont find it then select "not listed or dont know"
11) also make sure you select "DHCP Connection (Dynamic IP Address" click next
12) click on " clone your pcs mac address"
13) u dont have to type in "host name"...click next
14) next now the wizrd should b complted and "connect"
15) now u shoudl have internet on any computer that is physically connected to the router with a ethernet cable.....but no wireless internet yet....now we are about to set it uo

1) click on "setup" on top of the page
2) click on "wireless settings"
3) click on the box next to "Enale Wireless"
4) type in a name in "wireless network name" for example "gary's wifi"

Dlink wireless windows vista

Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the 'LAN' ports on the router and to the network-port on your computer.

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD and press ENTER
Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER.

You should get output like:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 124.268.336.448
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 123.456.789.0

Start Internet Explorer.
Type: http://123.456.789.0
to connect to the web-server "inside" the router.

Run the "wireless network setup wizard" to configure the router
with an SSID and a password.

Save and reboot the router.

Disconnect the Ethernet cable.

Your computer should report "Wireless Networks are available".
Choose your network, and enter the password for the network.

Ran the setup wizard for the d link di 514 but still cant connect to internet

Do you have Internet connection before you installed the Dlink router? Do you have cable or DSL? If you have DSL make sure you have the username and password from your Internet service provider because you need to enter those information when you run the set up wizard. You need to connect your computer to the LAN port of the router. Turn off computer and router, turn on router first then turn on the computer. Run the set up wizard again.
