My XM radio works fine in the car, even in the garage. But when I dock it into the station in the house it fades in and out. I have 3 bars of signal strength in both places. Any ideas?

I would do the following, hoping one of them works.
1) DISCONNECT the power to the radio and SiriusXM unit to "clear" it. Then reconnect and ask Sirius to resend signat.
2) Ask Sirius to UNSUBCRIBE that radio so it is deactivated. Then, have them reactivate and resend programing signal.
3) Be sure your car is outside under clear sky when Sirius sends the program signal.
4) It is possible the antenna cable to your unit is loose at the connections and/or damaged. A weaker signal may get your stations, but may prevent the additional Navigational signals. Have the antenna checked thoroughly and tested. If car is still under warranty, this should be a covered diagnostic/repair.
5) Finally, be sure the correct Radio Serial Number is being activated. If your radio works, that is one service. But maybe they are putting a wrong number by some chance into the system to fix this one? For example, you have TWO radios in TWO cars. Are they sending the turn on signal to the WRONG radio? Not as farfetched as you might think.
IF you take it out of the home dock and run it on batteries, I'll bet you it works again. The newer home docks TURN OFF the FM transmitter. Try a car dock, or try it with just the power plug plugged into the bottom of the MyFi, without the home dock and see if you can now get the FM transmitter to work. Let me know. Thanks and good luck.
I had the same problem, Bought a new Onyx and tried the supplied 12v power cable on existing Onyx and it worked, So it appears to be the power cable, Hoping now I can find a new power cable,
Depends if you are using an aux cable to plug it directly into the front of the cd player, then no you don't, or if you use casette hookup you don't. If you are trying to tune it through the radio station you may have to, they do broadcast through the air but if it's a newer model within the last few years the siginal isn't hardly strong enough but may still work you can try it , the older ones had stronger signals and you didn't have to, They started making them weaker so they would not broadcast into your house so they could make more money selling the home docking units for them.
You have probably lost a local repeater. Try moving it temporarily to a south-facing window. Here's another one to try: Put in dock and turn off with button on unit. wait 10 seconds, now press "2" "0" "7" "XM" buttons one at a time in that order ON THE FRONT of your SkyFi2 and the radio will go ON by itself! Now, press "Display" 4 times. You will see a screen that says "SAT1", "SAT2" and "TERR". You need a constant checkmark for DEMOD on at least one of the 3 boxes. Please tell me which ones are checkmarked and the average "BER%" number is. The lower the BER% number, the better. If BERis 100%, you are out of luck. Write back and let me know what you read. Press "Display" 5 more times to go back to regular screen. Thanks,
John
Here is a site that cares a lot of sat. radio things http://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/ This maybe what you are looking for a "Delphi XM Radio Wireless Signal Repeater System"
hi there..this will be like a walk in a park...first, in your home kit you should be having the ff: antenna, rca cable(audio cables), power adapter & docking station. We just have to 'placed the radio into the docking station' then we just have to plug in the ff cables into the xm receiver..we can start plugging in the rca cable(one ended connector) into the ' audio out ' of your xm radio...the other ends of the rca cables should be plug in into the 'audio in'(at the back/infront of your sound system)...plug in the antenna in the 'antenna out' of your xm( the antenna should be placed into a south facing window and not being block by tall trees and buildings outside)....plug in the power source and turn on the radio....if you got it right you should now be getting the prev.channels/emergency allerts...u can call xm to send a refresh for you to get the complete channels..or you can do it online by logging into www.refresh.xmradio.com(if the radio was already activated) if not, you have to call xm radio to activate it..enjoy listening to xm..Godbless..
Lately I have been loosing the signal constantly in the house. I've tried different stations to see if it would be any better and it's not. I called xm and they refreshed my signal but it didn't do ant good. It's really annoying to constantly have the signal fade. Everything is hooked up right. This is been going on for about 5 months and my neighbors complain about the same thing.
