Calibrate your screen on windows 7

The colors you see on your screen may vary depending on your monitor, graphics card settings, lighting and much more, but most people use the same standard Windows color profile. And that means a digital photo that you think sounds good can be very bad for everyone. Fortunately, Windows 7 is now a color screen Calibration Wizard, which allows you to properly configure your brightness, contrast and color settings, and ClearType tuner to ensure the text is clear and unambiguous. Click Start, type DCCW and press Enter to give him a chance.
HOW TO SET BRIGHTNESS OF THE SCREEN?

Hi,

Dear User...

You can adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor to improve the readability of text and to make digital pictures appear more like they'll look when printed.

To improve the results when adjusting the brightness and contrast settings for your display, use Display Color Calibration. (Display Color Calibration helps you adjust these color settings and others.) For more information about calibrating your display color in Windows, see Calibrate your display.

The way you adjust brightness and contrast varies and depends on your specific display.

Brightness and contrast buttons on the front of the monitor. Some monitors have brightness and contrast controls on the front and use the standard symbols shown in the following image.

On-screen menu. You can change the brightness and contrast settings for some displays by using an on-screen menu, and then setting the brightness and contrast in the resulting menu. Many times, you can view the on-screen menu by pressing a button-possibly labeled Menu-on the front of the monitor.

Thanks....

Adjusting brightness automatically using adaptive brightness

Adaptive brightness is a feature in Windows that uses a light sensor to automatically adjust the display brightness to match the lighting conditions in your computer's surroundings.

To use adaptive brightness, you must have light sensors installed and enabled on your computer.

To determine if your laptop or computer monitor supports adaptive brightness, look for the Enable adaptive brightness setting in Power Options (mentioned in the following procedure) or check the information that came with your computer.

To turn adaptive brightness on or off

Open Power Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then clicking Power Options.

Under any plan, click Change plan settings.

Click Change advanced power settings.

In the list, expand Display, and then expand Enable adaptive brightness.

To turn adaptive brightness on or off when your computer is running on battery power, click On battery, and then, in the list, click On or Off.

To turn adaptive brightness on or off when your computer is plugged into an outlet, click Plugged in, and then, in the list, click On or Off.

Click Apply. Click OK.

What is the proper calibration settings for a panasonic tc-p50s2n. I have used it for over a 100 hours

Do you have access to a test pattern or color bar ? .If you have a THX certified DVD ( some Walt Disney movies ) it will have calibration setup guide in the DVD menu.Or else you have to buy a calibration DVD if you are serious about your TV setup.
First you have to set the contrast and brightness using the Grey-scale pattern. Seven set of vertical bars slowly progressing from white to black. If set right you should be able to make out all the seven bars with out each merging ( or overlapping ) into the other. You will be able to see the line of demarcation between each vertical bars. Then set the color to taste.
If you do not want to purchase the above mentioned DVD disc a close setup figure for your Panasonic TV would be
Picture Mode = Standard ( Normal )
Picture ( Contrast ) ---- 50
Brightness ---------------- 50
Color ------------------------ 33
Sharpness ---------------- 50
Hue ------------------------- In the middle
This setting should give you a decent picture quality assuming your TV is new.

How to change the 'Contrast' and 'Brightness' on the monitor screen

Bootup your computer and display your Windows Desktop. Make sure yourmonitor stays on for at least half an hour before you begin, so that itis properly warmed up.

Seta pure black image on the monitor so you can adjust the brightness. Toget a pure black image, do the following: Choose Start, then ControlPanel, then Display. This will open the Display Properties dialog box.Click the down arrow next to the representation of the desktop color inthe Color field. Choose black from the color palette, then click OK.

Maximizethe Brightness control on your monitor, then slowly reduce it until theblack of the image perfectly matches the black at the edge of thephysical screen. This puts the brightness at the proper setting.

Open a screen with a plain white background soyou can adjust the contrast. One of the best ways to do this is to open aword-processing document without any text in it. Gradually reduce the contrastsetting of your monitor until the white area of the screen begins to lookslightly gray or off-white. Then gradually increase the contrast until thewhite area on your monitor is pure white. This will give you the proper whitebalance. Now you've got your monitor ready for peak performance.

Hope this may help you solve your problem.

Color output not the same as on the screen

If you are using a Windows Platform, in the printer drivers there is an advanced option that will let you
change brightness levels, contrast, saturation, etc.

If its a Mac, you will need to possibly get a Printer Calibration program or try changing the specs within the software. Mac drivers don't necessarily give you the options to change those settings.

Color calibration

All monitors have a brightness control. Click the menu button and from the on screen menu choose the brightness and set it to your liking. There should also be a contrast control and may or may not be a backlight control. All the user controlled setting are in the OSM.
