Vivitar cameras are known for there inability to function normaly. Alot of these and many more problems I have encountered are manufacturer problems and can not be fixed on your own. the best thing to do would be to contact Vivitar and see if they can give you a refund or replace it. it is best to call but as I do not know the number here is a link to their website.
