Not a single sound function is accessible from remote or on TV buttons. Type of Reception (PAL, NTSC etc.)started coming while tuning, which was not observed earlier any time. in setup menu lenguage has started coming which was not there earlier. In addition, total number of channels available is reduced from 210 to 99 only! All other functions of Set is working OK.

Hi,You did not give make and model of your Receiver !!!
Was it working before or you have just connected it to the receiver..? All surround receivers have a surround Sound Setup procedure that either Activate or Deactivate the Subwoofer..So,pls check your Sound set up and speaker Connectiions on the back of Ampl?f?er.
If problem continues pls let me know with more detailed description. Hope this helps!Take care and please Remember to rate/vote us to continue for Helping out the Community :) Thanks
Picture tube is magnetized. Manual degausing is required. already you have done this.
Since you say it is reappearing, you have to check the following.
1. Relocate the TV or relocate if you have placed any tower speakers or home theater speakers close-by.
2. Check whether auto degauss functioning OK. In the MENU check whether you switched off auto degauss option. If it is OFF enable it to ON.
3. Finally re orient the direction of your TV and watch the rainbow effect. Switch OFF TV, wait for 20 mts, and again switch ON. Repeat the process. It should disappear.
Magnetic toys or any other devises using magnet will cause this problem.
Go to menu under audio see if speakers have been turn off also look on back of tv for switch internal&external speakers see if someone has turn it off.ThankYou for trying FixYa. Have a Nice Day.
It is really a memory problem try to access its service mode open the cover of its remote control so you can find an extra carbon switch inside which is not accessible if the remote control's cover is on.Another way is you can use an eeprom copier copy a known good aiwa ctv with the same model or parameters
