A-TR is auto tracking, possibly due to older video cassettes or a faulty/dirty drum. Run a wet head cleaner through the player and check the condition of the tapes being used. If the tapes are old they leave deposits on the playing/recording heads and you will persistantly have this problem. If the problem persists, then I suspect the heads may be faulty, or may just need an adjustment.
1)First press the button marked 'LOCK' on the remote control (left of center) if that doesn't work 2)Press the button marked VCR on the left top of remote control.
If it is still locked it means some one has disabled the remote control by pressing the CH+ button and Play button simultaneously. To release this, Carry out the same again ie..press both the CH+ button and the Play button together. This should cure the problem.
make sure your VCR is on the right channel TO record.
You may see the picture on the televison, but that doesn't mean that it is recording that channel. Also, make sure your tapes have the little plastic tab ON on the front of it. It will not record without the plastic tab or you can use a piece of scotch tape and put over the square hole.
Are you using coaxil cable or rca jacks to hook up vcr to tv?
SP means Standard Play. Generally that is the Normal speed at which a VCR Records or Plays back a tape. SP is automatic, as it is the Standard setting. If you wish to record more picture than the normal 120 mins on a tape, then you choose LP (Lond Play) oe EP (Extended Play).
