Check it with the external speaker unpluged, turn the mike gain down a little at a time, until it does not squeel. ..hope this helps..

I have a galaxy 98vhp an when i flip the switch for more power an key up it just squealing. I've turn down mic gain and turned down the power and still does it but if i flip the switch down it...

It sounds like you either have a mis-matched antenna, a poor antenna connection, or your radio is too close to the antenna. Try moving the radio further away from the antenna.

Cobra highgear hg75m mic squeals

get it away from the ext . speaker. They are cheap enough ,buy another one and see if it still squeals. If it does then you may have to jump the mic with resistors ,turn down your mic gain, check for talk back on rear where your pa. and external speaker hooks to inside the radio. If you see a resister connecting them then you have talk back . Mainly its a Keep the mic away from the speaker deal that makes them squeal. Try other cobra mics with the same pin out and see if it still happens . easy fix just have to be patient .

How do i set my galaxy dx 88 hl so the talkback is on all the time

turn the talkback knob to the right and push it in to engage talkback.when you get the volume you want leave it alone .Now key the mic.You will probably hear a squeal coming from the speaker. Now turn the volume down on the talkback knob until the squeal goes away.If you run your RF gain wide open it may squeal also.

My radio squeals with echo when my amps on

adjust your talkback to just open then set your echo to where you want it. Now turn your amp on and re-adjust both the talkback and the echo . If you have a speaker nearby the radio may be feeding back through it so move it away from your radio . Now start talking with the mic and adjust your echo because you should be able to hear yourself talk through your talkback.

check the speaker it may be dry rotted and not working.use an external speaker. depending on the time of day you probably couldn't reach any one any way Get a friend to talk on another radio while you listen and then let him listen for you.

The sound on my galaxy 44 cuts in and out one guy said it was a loose wire on the speaker and fixed it but it still cuts in and out any suggestions ?

The repair may not have been done correctly, and may need to be done again.

You should try connecting a speaker to the External Speaker jack on the back of the radio to see if it is a problem with the internal speaker or not. If you have the room, use the external speaker - you can choose whichever type you like and not be stuck with what is usually a cheap, crappy sounding internal type.

Good luck!

RCI 2970 squeels until you unplug the external speaker and plug i

Strange! I used to run almost the same kinda setup but with a super scanner omnibeam, i modded mine myself. At 1 time i had a squeal problem it was in the mic if i remember correctlly i ran a external wire from the screw on the spring inside the mic where the cord comes out to the radio chassis and it stopped it give it a try. I used a simple speaker wire, also you might want to try grounding the radio to the power supply. Sounds like a ground problem! I have a awsome mod for that radio that would enable you to run a regular amp with it and also would enable you to talk local without engaging the amp in the radio using only 4 watts! Let me know how it works out for you with the squeal? if intrested in that mod contact via email at ([email protected]). put 2970 in the subject line. Take care.

CB Squeal When Transmitting

I believe the coiled coax may indeed be the problem. To check, try a temporary rerouting of the cable which eliminates the coils. Dave g.
