Hey guys! My ESP7 is using an enormous amount of colored ink! I'm on my third cartridge and I haven't printed 20 5x7 pics. Or the 'low colored ink alert' is not properly functioning. Is there any way I can check the 'alert' function for accuracy? Or is it possible for me to disable the low ink alert? I am not happy with this unit. Something is clearly wrong. Page yields are estimates and how many pages (or photos) you get out of a cartridge depends on the percent coverage for each color. In general page yields are based on 5% coverage, which translates to double spaced text. Printing photos uses a LOT of ink and it seems like there isn't much ink in these cartridges to start with. I would not expect that the ink alert is malfunctioning. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I would be happy to give you a recommendation on a printer that would better suit your needs.

When prints come out the landscape is all white .sky and sea ok. photos comes out with lines on them

Verify that the ink cartridges are not damaged and are completely seated in the printhead:
  1. Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
  2. Verify that the labels on the ink cartridges are intact, and that the cartridges are not damaged.
  3. Verify that the KODAK Ink Cartridges have not been refilled.
  4. Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear it click into position.

  6. Close the printer access door.
  7. Check the printer status monitor on your computer (or the LCD screen on the printer) to determine if there is sufficient ink available for your print job.

NOTE: When the "Black ink cartridge is low" or "Color ink cartridge is low" message is displayed, print quality can be affected.
  8. Reprint the picture or document that had the quality problem.

I recently replaced the black ink cartridge and do not wish to use the colour cartridge. However, the printer still keeps flashing the critically low level of my colour cartridge and does not print. How can...

Many printers always use a small amount of each color even if you are only printing black, to prevent the color nozzles from drying out and getting clogged (and, it forces you to buy more ink, which is a profit center for printer manufacturers)

For this reason, some printers will not work if ANY of the cartridges are empty.

It should work again if you replace the color cartridge. Make sure to select "black ink only" or the option to print in black and white or grayscale to minimize color ink usage. It may still use a little, but that's OK.

Dell 720 color cartridge doesn't seem to be printing with enough 'green'...all pics tinted red. New cartridge. Is is possible to balance the color any better?

Run a "print-head-cleaning" cycle -- some of the ink-jets may be clogged, thus reducing the amount of ink reaching the paper.

Try "photo-quality" paper.

Dell V305W printer says ink is low and it's not!

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Printing wrong colors

you might be running out of the red ink.

Whenever a printer prints the whole image but with different colors it means that the printer uses the available color with enough amount.

Try replacing it with new ink cartridge.

Won't print because color cartridge is empty and l don't need color

Try changing printing preferences/properties. Click on option for color, then click on box for "black ink only" or similar. Try now. If you still cannot print after changing preferences/properties, you will need to replace color ink cartridge due to manufacturer's built-in software that prevents printing when ink is low. Great for the ink companies!!!

HP printer not printing true color all of a sudden.

Altho the cartridge is new, you may have used all of the ink of one color. Pictures take an enormous amount of ink to print and all three primary colors are used to create the hues and colors indicated on the picture. Try a new color cartridge and see if that works.

0% color ink

We cannot bypass the color ink check, since the all-in-one uses little amount of even the color ink to print in black. Once check the expiry date of the color cartridge and clean the copper contacts of the cartridge and reinsert it again and then try to print. If the issue still persists replace the color cartridge and check for the result, if we experience the same issue even after replacing the color cartridge then the issue is with the all-in-one.
