Set up a shop light, one of those Halogen type lights. And have it shining right on it at the highest setting. The water in the line has frozen. After about 30 minutes to an hour it should start working again. You could also use a blow dryer but I'd rather not stand in front of the fridge that long. Remember if you got kids in the house to warn them not to touch the light!

SOURCE: Hotpoint ice/water dispenser will dispense ice but not water

You may have a blocked filter. Has this even been changed since you have hook-up the water line, or did you recently just install a new filter. If so it may not be in right correctly. try removing it and reinstalling it.

There is a drain that carries water from the freezer to a drain pan in the base of the fridge. It has plugged preventing water from draining and in turn the water has froze blocking the flow of air to the fridge. First you must find the drain line in the rear of the fridge and unplug it as well as thaw the fridge out overnight to allow the water to drain... be patient as there will be a lot of ice to be thawed out, let me know if it works! good luck!

Hello:
It is very common to have the line in the freezer door freeze up. I would start there first. If that's not it then next step would be your water valve which is located in the back/bottom of the fridge. It is a dual valve( one side for ice maker the other for water dispenser). you can check that by taking off the front kick plate and on the bottom freezer door hinge you will see the line entering the door. Follow it towards the under the fridge and you will find a coupling. Disconnect it and see if there is any water coming out when you press actuator on the door .. If yes then its frozen if no your valve is Kaput.

Cheers

I have a GE Refrigerator GSS22JFMD WW with a ice

The water supply in the recessed part of your door is frozen. very common with this model. You will need to turn unit off and with freezer door open use hairdryer on the area where water dispenses and on the recessed area as well. This is time consuming but only other remedy is to leave off and door open for 24 hours. hope this helps.

We have a Hotpoint side by side fridge. It always makes

check the door in the dispenser if moisture is condensing and freezing so that the door won't open try manually popping the door open just before you attempt to dispense ice, maybe you'll get lucky, otherwise your going to have to get a technician to come and check the micro-switch for the dispenser

I have a Hotpoint hss25gfpe ww fridge with ice and water in the door. The ice works, but I am unable to get water. Why can I not get any water? The serial # is tf261776 if this is needed.

Most water dispensing fridges have a tank in the fridge to keep the water cold. If the fridge temp is too low it might freeze the tank and stop the water from dispensing. Also check the water filter to make sure it is not frozen. Water filters should be replaced every 6-12 months, if it's been longer than that it might be too full of dirt to allow water past. It also might be the water inlet valve is not opening.
