How do I get inside the Speedstream 5667 modem to configure it with my ISP's provided uid & pw? I have tried htp://192.168.254.254/ to no avail. All lights are good, I just don't have the IP address to get inside. Thanks!
(This modem is quite a few years old that has been unused for a number of years and I'm trying to resurrect it to use with my temporary service with ATT -- they don't want to help without charging me big $$$. It was originally purchased from Frontier communications and has part #060-5667-010. Frontier might have changed the default access ip address so maybe I need to know how to reset everything to factory defaults?)
Well, you need not reset the router to access its configuration settings page. Please perform the below task on a computer connected to the Speedstream modem:
A. Click on Start—Programs—Accessories—Command Prompt.
B. In Command Prompt window, type in 'ipconfig' and hit 'Enter'. Note down the IP Address, Subnet mask & Default Gateway here.
Check the numbers for Default gateway and use those numbers to access its configuration page.
If you would like to download the manual for the modem then you can visit the below link:

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Well, in that case you got to reset the modem. Please press the reset hole on the modem for 10 seconds while the modem is powered on. Then turn off the modem and then turn it back on. Now try to login using its default Gateway address.
Well, the autoconfiguration IP 169.x.x.x is a fake IP and will not allow communication between the modem and the computer. I would suggest you to reboot your computer and then again check what IP address you get from the modem. If you still get 169.x.x.x then please change the Ethernet cable connected between the modem and the computer and recheck the IP address.

Anand
Yepp, It seems that the modem has gone faulty. Sorry, but we tried our best.

Thanks Anand. I did as you said and get a blank gateway (see below). I tried renewing and get an unresponsive DHCP server error. Can you help? Thanks, Jack

Oh, one other thing, Anand. I had tried those links to dslreports before -- apparently Siemens has removed the libraries so the links in the report fail (no web page). I have the original box and manuals that came with the modem but they do not list the internal gateway address. Thanks for your help.
OK, I tried reset & power down&up, with the attached results; still no gateway :-(. I also pinged the autoconfig @ and that works, but of course I cannot open that address as a web page. Can you help? Thanks, Jack
