Question about Siemens SpeedStream Modem (4100) (SS4100)
What kind of problem are you having? if setup problem, u can call your ISP(if the modem came from your isp).if you already tried running the cd installer and it's still not working, the technical support has a manual configuration and can walk you thru it over the phone..

This modem has major problems and you'll see the more you look the more you'll find out this is ****. It goes out often and always. My regular provider keeps sending me new ones and before long it does the same thing or something new for some other reason. Major problem with keeping username and password. The stupid contraption wont stop blinking.

As you are using speed stream 4100 modem and it has a5 lights, if u have a 1 solid light for power and other all the 4 lights are flashing, It indicates either u need to upgrade the firware of modem or you may try Hard reset option of modem..At the rear sode of modem you will have a reset hole / button, u may press that using some paper clip...unplu all the cables and wait for 2 mins...connect them back in..all the lights will come up but the internet..u need to check IP address by doing IPCONFIG, whatever gateway u r getting (probably 192.168.1.1) type that into adressbar of IE and putthe correct user name and password, asked code u may get from the bottom side of ur modem...get into GUI og modem and put your complete email address and password, save settings ...Ok and restart the modem...it will be ready to go.

Hi,
* You dont need any special drivers to install modem.
* Open up internet explorer, type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press enter key.
* Now you should see the configuration page of modem.
* On the left side, click on Advanced button, below that, you will see "connection configuration" option - click on it.
*** If it asks for modem access code anywhere, you can find the code underneath the modem. please type it ***
* Under this page, you have to enter the email address in username field and password, change the connection type to smart keep alive, click on save changes
* Now it may ask you for restart modem. click on restart. within 1 min, you will be connected to internet.
Take care

SOURCE: how to bridge
Why are you doing this?
I would not recommend doing so unless you know what you are doing.
That being said the instructions are on the back of the modem on how to gain access.
Directly connect modem to a computer without a router inbetween. The IP of the modem should be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
After that you will need the access code on the bottom of the modem in order to change it to bridge mode.
Again please do not attempt this if you don't know what you are doing.

My modem will not register the internet light. I tried to hook up 2 computers thru a hub and modem and it caused my internet to go out. i am hooked up thru my hubbys laptop
I am having the exact same problem. Tried hooking up Netgear wireless router; followed all directions to a T - for some reason now the modem doesn't connect to the internet. Disconnected the router; connected computer directly to the modem; still nothing. I think something happened when I rebooted the modem. Any suggestions?
Hi,
Do u still have the problem?
Take care
