Siemens Speedstream 4200 Driver

I have a Siemens Speedstream 4200 Modem and am trying to get the drivers for this, am putting in http://192.168.254.254 in the address field as I was originally instructed to when I first received the modem but I can't seem to access it now. Do you know where I can get the drivers for this modem? I was with a different ISP when I last used this.
Regards, Debbie

Visit this link http://www.modemsupport.com.au/. On the left side under the heading Speedstream 4200 download and isntall both the drivers and firmware.
Once you've installed the firmware open iexplorer and goto http://192.168.254.254 . Type in an admin password and save settings. Type in your username and password ( provided by your isp ) press save again and then press connect. you should be in business.

Modems dont need drivers, only the NIC in the PC....ensure that the NIC is working properly in the "Device Manager". If not youll need a working NIC 1st. Then youll need to contact your ISP for propper configuration of the modem.

As solution 4 says, if you connect via USB port you DO need a driver since Windows needs to be told about it.
If you connect via a network cable then windows doesn't care.
Further, a lot of modems supplied by service providers are set up for them only and so need to be reset to the manufacturers original specifications to work (ie BigPond, I had to use Siemens drivers to remove BigPond settings. Before I did that http://192.168.254.254 .did not work!)

I have a siemens speedstream 4200 and windowsXP.

Are you connecting the modem using a USB cable or a ethernet cable.

If its the USB cable you would need the disk supplied with it and if its an ethernet cable, no installation is required.

Driver

Drivers are not needed. Just connect your PC to the modem with an ethernet cable. The modem should give the PC an IP address. Open a browser and in the address window type in 192.168.0.1 and you should see the setup screen for the modem.
