reason is there is separate bass on both input channels that you want to include in the sub channel. For example, if bass drum is on left channel and bass guitar is on right channel, you need both to hear all of the bass music from your single sub. OK?
yes you have a internal fault of the amp. the circuit that puts it into
safe mode is bad and that is a very small chip on the board know as a
op amp. needs to be repaired.
Your head unit is 50 watts X 4 channel maximum power and 21 watts RMS so it's possible that all you need is more power to the speakers. But even 21 watts RMS should be enough for normal speakers. Before investing in an amp, I'd check the speakers and their wiring. Measure the impedance (resistance) at the head unit side to see if they match up.
It depends on if you want it to be able to play really loud and really clear. The deck will probably drive them pretty good on its own but when you really crank on some head decks the sound can start distortring. Wheres the sub it the package? Get a less powerfull, 50 Watt X4, amp and get a decent sub with a mono amp or they have all in one 4.1 channel amps. To drive the whole system and keep it easy. Have fun
