How to remove red eye / eyes in pictures using Windows 7 built in tools

You don't need specialized programs or photo editing software to fix a red eye in Windows 7. You will only need to have MS Office 2003 or later installed or download a small free program called Red Eye Remover.

IF YOU HAVE OFFICE 2003 OR LATER INSTALLED

Go to the picture from which you want to remove the red eyes. Then , right click on the image and from the open with menu , select Microsoft Picture Manager.



This will open the program and load your picture to it.
Now select the edit picture button.



This will bring up a toolbar at the left of the window with the photo editing tools.



1) On the bottom of the toolbar , zoom using the slider so that you can clearly see the eyes you want to edit.
2) Then , on the right hand toolbar , select the Red Eye Removal Tool.

Now click on the eyes you want the red removed from. A little red eye should appear after clicking.




After selecting all eyes , click the okay button. This will fix the eyes selected.



After the eyes are fixed , just click on the save button or select save from the file menu.


IF YOU DON'T HAVE OFFICE INSTALLED

Download and install Red Eye Remover by clicking HERE.
Now , drag your picture into the program.



Now , use you mouse wheel to zoom in and center you screen so that you can see the eyes you want to edit.

Now , simply click and drag a rectangle around the eye and release. The program will automatically detect the red eye and remove the red out of it.



When done, simply click file, save as and either replace the original photo or save it as a new copy.
