I tried to shoot the solar eclipse with an X-ray film about 1 foot away from my FE 320 olympus camera. Thereafter the pictures display was reddish in colour for a while. After about 2 hours the display went blank. All the buttons are responding, menus being displayed but the display is just black and blank. please suggest.

I would suggest a new camera...and never do that again. There's a reason we don't look directly at an eclipse...your camera's sensor doesn't have healing abilities.

Connect your camera or place your memory card into a computer with image processing software to view picture. Or sometimes if you camera is exposed in a high temperature it may affect the lcd display of you camera. Some camera recovers after long exposure to high temperature if place in a cool,normal temperature. Check also your sd card it might be corrupted also.
Do you really mean the CCD? That's the imaging sensor inside the camera. If you mean the LCD display on the back of the camera, you can order one at

I have had my Olympus FE-210 for about 2 1/2 years just recently it started to display an all black screen after I took pictures and like many of you I would turn it off and back on just to get 1 picture out.
After testing it over and again I may have solved the problem:
First: remove all of the pictures and memory card from the camera
Second: go into the menu and find the reset button it will then display that the camera will return to default(factory setting)
after I did this I was able to take over 35 continuous pictures using every setting and scene setting the camera has
If this doesn't work I would suggest buying a new camera
