My phone did this a few times as well. It went on for a few days, I couldn't answer my phone unless it was closed and I slid it open, couldn't look at text messages, nothing. Finally it died and I recharged it and it started working again. Later on the phone also would act like I was randomly opening it, so it would light up, causing the battery to die faster. Once it died completely I charged it and it worked fine again. So far it's been a month and it hasn't happened again. Now though my phone stops working where I can't receive calls or text or make calls or send texts. This can last for 20 minutes to 3 hours at a time. I can't wait to get a new phone!!!
do you mean while your talking to a person? if so i cannot help. but if you mean your phone is on silent, samsung tends to make a lot of the silent buttons on their phone the pound button. (#) so if you mean on silent, just hold the pound (#) button down. if that doesn't work try using the bar on the side.
Sounds like you either fried your battery or killed your phone..have you taken it to the store so that they can test the battery in one of thier test phones? That would tell you if you need to replace the phone or the battery!
Its one of the most common problem in Samsung SGH-A707.It is mainly due to one reason i,e. your cell got wet.....!!! But you can try following steps to get rid of it:
Takeout the battery of your phone.
Leave your cell in air for a day or two without attaching battery and battery cover to it.
Put the battery back,it should work.If still problem exists, then I'll recommend you to buy a new battery for your cell........and before you put that new battery in your cell,leave your cell in air for another two days with the same procedure.
