When you burn a cd on your computor there are a few different formats to choose from. You need to make sure you burn it so that the cd can be played on devices other than a computer drive. Ran in to that issue my self a while back. Hopefully the program you're using will allow you to use a different format.

I have a clarion cy358 car audio system. it has CD am/FM. I wanna know whether what format is compatible with this CD player? Can I play mp3? it doesnt show any mp3 icon on the interface.

it only need to indicate WMA or MP3 when its playing in that format. depending on how old the head unit is... most head units sold after the new ISO-9001 Standards need to display any and all specs http://www.iso.org/iso/about/the_iso_story.htm try burning a data copy first to see if the head unit can search through the folders... if it wont search or do anything at all... its .wave (cd) if the display reads unsupported format and continues to search....it does play mp3/wma to get the mp3/wma files to play, change the settings in the burner program. (try default settings) ..... it takes time to render a nice mp3 disc from scratch, one its working, its really rewarding... 18-20 songs just isnt enough anymore.... try to use 320kbps mp3's as much as you can... anything lower will make ant car stereo sound like a 10 dollar alarm clock... keep the bit-rate high when it comes to music... your ears will last longer too...

Burn cd off of computer tryed to play it in pioneer and it says fmtread error 11

hi this sounds like you have burnt it in the wrong media type file, you may have burnt it as a WMA windows media audio, which do not play on normal CD players, you will have to try burning as either CDA ( standard cd audio ) or if it will play it, try MP3..........hope this helps

CD's won't play on Home & Car stereo after Burning in Mp3 or WAv

most older car and home stereos will NOT play mp3's or wav files reguardless what kind of CD they are written on.
You need a newer stereo OR convert the mp3s to cd audio and then burn them to any recordable cd.. (audio cds can be read by any cd player but will take more space)

CD's won't play on Home & Car stereo after Burning

I may add alot of times older equipment has a hard time reading burned cd's because when ever burning cd's the pits that are burnt into the cd are shallow. The faster the cd burns the more shallow it is... one thing you can try to do is burn at 2x in the WAV format cause it most diffenately will not read mp3 format being that old equipment. You may get lucky burning at 2x because the pits that it burns in the cdrom will be deeper. As the clarification said do use CD-R's. If this doesn't work at 2x chances are that equipment is just not going to be able to read a burnt cd period. Good Luck!!! I hope this works for you!!!

CD's play in Media Player but not Home/Car CD player ?

If you are using windows Media Player to burn the cd you have to burn to an audio cd. You can only burn to mp3 cd if your car or home system canread them. Wma audio cannot normally be read by car or home audio. The file format is called WAV

2002 Silverado- CD played ERR message

This is not a fuse problem, it may be a dirty laser lens or a broken loading mechanism, buy a CD player cleaner disk, if that won't work you will have to pull the unit out and send it in for repair at an authorized GM electronics repair station.
