We have a 32inch ilo flat screen tv that has been giving us problems with wanting to turn on after we turn it off. when we push standby to turn it on red light remains red instead of turning green for when it turns on
I HAVE A 32 INCH FLAT SCREEN TUBE TV (ILO) IT WAS BOUGHT 06/03/06 TWO WEEKS AGO THE TV WON'T TURN ON. IT IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD.
Hello, I am sorry to hear of your problem here. From the sounds of it, this unit will have to be serviced. You say the TV used to come out of standby on its own, normally when the unit is in standby it simply routes power around the Televisions main circuits. It seems that a faulty diode/resistor/selenoid may have been causing this. This is more commen to see in homes with poor wiring and having little or no protections from voltage variations, i.e. blackouts/lightning. It would seem that now whatever was causing the first issue is or is somehow related to the current issue. If you are experienced in electrical repairs you could remove the back cover and check the power supply area for blown fuses and also see if there any heat scars anywhere on the board. If there is a faulty diode/resistor there may be signs.
more to this..the blogosphere is running strongly against this unit, with many unfortunate experiences apparently being the case..
no service manual available, perhaps another expert will bring one? more to this..the blogosphere is running strongly against this unit, with many unfortunate experiences apparently being the case..

It looks like the power supply is failing on your TV. Some of the components are starting to fail after the TV warn up.
You can try contacting the manufacturers and ask them if they could Honor the 1 year manufacturers warranty by giving them the model and serial number, or hopefully the can repair by taking the date when the TV was manufactured.
I service these power supplies.
Let me know if you need further assistance. my email is [email protected]
My ilo 27" tv did the same thing (red light on front but would not turn on) and after much frustration looking around on the net I finaly cracked it open. After removing enough screws to remove the back the first thing I saw was the main power board. This board has quite a few capacitors on it and I found 4 of these that had bulging tops. 3 were 1000uf/16volt and 1 was 470uf/16volt. I disconnected all wire connectors from this board and replaced them with parts from radio shack PN 272-1032 and 272-1030. The voltage rating of these are different but ok if larger than the original part. It fired right up when I put it all put back together

my 8 month old tv doesnt even turn blue. just blinking red light where on/off light display appears. very discouraged cause wallmart will not help. trying techsupport. i found this number from my purchase paperwork. hope it is helpfull to you.
There are no codes for ILO products. You have to get VERY lucky to find a universal remote that works with them. It's just one of the drawbacks for this brand of TV.
