Dryer takes too long to dry. Feels warm when I open it up, but each load takes multiple drying cycles to dry. I checked the vent for clogs. I empty the lint trap after every cycle. The heating element was even glowing orange when I opened the dryer up to check.

If your dryer is heating, but you are experiencing longer dry times and poor drying efficiency, the following link can give you some items to check before you assume there is a malfunction with your dryer:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

A glowing bright red heating element is not necessarily a good thing. The element should actually cycle on and off as the dryer cycle runs. If it is glowing steady and really bright, its a good sign that you may have a clog somewhere. The number one cause of dryer heat related problems is poor exhaust ventilation. If not vented properly, a dryer will not dry efficiently, will take longer than required to dry, and will cause the heating circuits to overheat to the point of failure. The dryer will actually seem hotter as the heating circuits begin to overheat. This is also the source of many fire hazards if not resolved. Read through the link provided and review some of the potential causes.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. Please include your MODEL NUMBER (if it is different from the one you listed this question under), so I can determine how your dryer is configured. I hope you find this information is helpful.

NOTE: If you thoroughly check everything and still have problems let me know. The problem could be related to a thermostat beginning to fail.

Whirlpool dryer is not drying properly. Have to go through a couple of cycles to dry clothes.

2 things are needed to dry clothes. 1 is good air flow. Check to make sure that the dryer vent is not clogged or partially clogged with lint. Also make sure there are no kinks in the vent hose. With the dryer running you should feel good air flow blowing out of the outside house vent. The 2nd thing a dryer needs heat. Check to see that the dryer feels warm to hot when you reach in to tough the clothes. It is possible that the heat element has partially failed. Another thing to investigate is how well the laundry machine is spinning out the water in the spin cycle. This spin cycle is used to get as much water out as possible prior to placing the clothes in the dryer. The wetter the clothes when they come out of the laundry, the longer it takes to dry them.

check your filter[clean if dirty]-check & seeif your vent is plugged-check to see if the vent doors outside the house open when dryer is on -[also maybe proppeler might have become stuck or loose, it sounds like a plugged vent problem.

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

The vent may be stopped up, or the vent hose crimped so the air cannot escape, you can check the air flow at the vent on the outside of the house while the dryer is running.
try cleaning the vent and the lint screen with a vacuum cleaner, you may need to replace the vent hose, this should solve the problem

Takes multiple cycles to dry normal load of clothes

Have the vent system from the back of the dryer to the outside of the house cleaned. If the dryer can't push air out, it can't bring air in, and the clothes won't dry. Another condition you might be seeing is moist lint developing around the gasket on the inside of the door. That's a sure sign the airstream is restricted somewhere.

Dryer goes with 3-4 cycles to dry load of clothes

unplug the dryer.
Open the top lid.
Remove the front panel.
Inspect the blower wheel attached to the motor.
If it moves on the motor shaft replace it.
If iy does not move on the motor shaft, clean the lint out of the exhaust from the blower wheel to the rear of the dryer.
