I put the memory stick in the usb port and it came apart..It doesnt recognize it at all. I have pictures on there that I can replace...Help!!!

1. Confirm the USB port on the computer you are connecting your printer to is being recognized by your computer. The easiest way to do this would be to plug a known good USB Memory stick into the USB port you want to use. If you can read the contents of the USB Memory stick then the port should work. Remove the Memory stick, start the printer installation program (Make sure you don't the printer connected), want until the setup program tells you to connect the printer before you attach the Printer's USB cable.
If the printer isn't recognized try a different USB port, when picking a new USB port to try select a higher priority port, for example in increasing priority from, an external USB hub, a powered external hub, a monitor based hub, USB ports on the front of the computer, up to the USB ports at the computer rear. For USB ports on the same circuit select an USB 2.0 before an USB 3.0 port

The USB port has 4 pins, 2 are power ans the other 2 is for data. Your motherboard may be damaged with some of the power pin shorting out components on the motherboard.

If you normally upload your pictures by connecting via the USB port, remove the memory stick before connecting the camera to the computer. If you normally upload your pictures by putting the memory stick into a card reader, use the camera's memory stick tool to copy the pictures from internal memory to memory stick.

does the removable drive appear in ''my computer'' ?
when i plug my camera in it doesnt always popup asking you to open to view.

does your usb mem stick have any light indicators? if yes , whenever you put you usb stick, does it light? if it lights are USB ports is still ok,  You just have to reformat or partition you USB stick.
(you can also try other devices like usb mouse or any usb devices that lights up when you connect it)

if there are no lights if you plug, or no indication that a power goes to your stick, its possible that your usb your are busted. if this is the case, if your laptop has a PCMIA slot, you can find a pcmia USB card, if you dont have. your only option is replace the  motherboard.

FOr your memory stick,
stick it in the USB port,
and the if nothing shows up,
click on My Documents and then
you'll see some lists above, click Folders
a left sidebar will appear.
Click My Computer
from there you should be able ot find your
memory stick.
since the other drives iwll be Hard Drives/DVD Drives etc.

Onc eyou find it, click it, and you'll see your pictures etc.

I think you might have a loose cononection for the data ports. Try putting a little bit of force on the usb device. Up, down left right. NOT ALOT. If it starts working when force is used, i tihnk you should try to take it apart and resolder the connections. If it dosen't work, uninstalling the driver and installing.

some flah drives need drivers . i think u r not using xp . the drivers can be downlaoded from the companys websit . can u ane the comapny

Where would you put the memory stick?
two mthods if you have a card reader- built in or external use thiat.
Otherwise leave stick in  camera and connect using the USB cables supplied.
