If you have forgotten your bios password on your Panasonic Cf-51, there is no need to worry. There are a few simple steps that you can follow in order to reset the password and regain access to your computer.
First, locate the RTCRST jumper on the motherboard. This is usually located near the CMOS battery. Once you have located the jumper, remove it and then replace it in the opposite position. This will reset the bios password.
Next, locate the power button on the front of the computer. Once you have located the power button, press and hold it for a few seconds. This will reset the power to the computer and will also clear the bios password.
I hope this helps!
There appears to be several genrations of CF-51. Here is a link to the support page where you can enter what generation of CF-51 that applies to your model:
Listen carefully to the HDD bay of the CF-51, If the "Clicking" sound is coming from that area then it is possible that the hard drive is failing causing the whole laptop to freeze up.
If that is the case then you're looking at a new or replacement hard drive.
There's no such thing as a stupid question. I'm unsure of the exact placement as I can't find a manual for the CF-51 but it's a longer battery so most likely runs from side to side underneath. Look for a tab you can slide to release. This would be located near the plug you use to charge it up as that would connect directly to the battery- USUALLY!! Don't worry about messing anything up. It's always a good idea to keep it turned off while doing this. If a battery doesn't pop out, push whatever it is back in and keep going. Let me know what you come up with. I'm keeping an eye on the site while watching the Ravens and Titans!
I am a technician but wanted a manual. Thanks for not.
