Panasonic Toughbook CF-73 Notebook Questions & Answers
I was on my Panasonic Toughbook CF 73 this
On all Panasonic Toughbooks the following works.
Please unplug you Toughbook and remove the battery pack.
Then Please do not put the battery pack back in.
Without the battery pack, plug back in the Toughbook.
Try to start the Toughbook, it should work.
If it does not, try to hold down the power button for 12-15 seconds continuously. This should "reset" your Toughbook.
Good Luck.

How do I remove HDD from HDD Caddy on Panasonic ToughBook CF-73
The caddy on all Panasonic Toughbooks are
held together by pressure.
I use several paperclips (unfolded) to wedge
between the side of the caddy and the small holes
which are located around the caddy. There are two
along the right side, one in the front and one in the
back and two along the left side.
I usually start with the far left side and work my way
to the back, then to the far right side, slowly prying
with pressure a few millimeters at a time.
Finally I go to the right front, then the front and
at last to the left front, almost in a circle.
It is a little tricky and may require several attempts,
but the caddy will come apart. Please try to remember
how the cable attaches to you can re-attach after
you change the hard drive.
Good Luck

Automatic start of a toughbook CF73
To my understanding I have never seen this done, I have checked a lot of bios settings in different computers over the years, and I have never come across an option that offers auto start.

Hi, does the touch screen
It seems Panasonic discontinued the CF-73 and there is no updated drivers to support Windows 7. Sorry.

Battery light is blinking red
Hi,
Welcome to Fixya! If the battery light is blinking red, that indicates low power, there's a possibility that the problem is with the AC adapter, or the battery or maybe the DC port itself, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.
1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.
Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

I have yellow lines on my toughbook from top to
This would be a symptom of a bad screen. The other possibility is that the video cable might be loose. (It's attached to the back of the screen.) it's a rather thin wire; and at time, may work loose. With a toughbook; due to the costs, and expertise required to work on them, make sure you take it to a shop that has experience. OR, you may end up with further problems
