Cannot access 'channel'' menu in samsung DTV menu to carry out retune. The menu jumps from 'sound' to 'setup', the 'channel' icon is greyed out and cannot be accessed.

This is becouse you had done some Channel Child Lock first open all child lock than try to tune channel.Or possible that you are in some other input mode.select TV mode than you can try.

To re-tune analogue channels:
I have a Samsung TV and that icon is not accessible from the menu if i am watching the tv on the digital option of my remote. You have to switch your tv to the "tv" option on your remote and you will be able to access the icon from your menu. (on your remote, you should have a button with TV/DTV on it)
To re-tune analogue channels, if you want to re-tune digital channels, then look for the "D MENU" button on your remote. Press this then scroll down to the icon that looks like a large satellite and then on "Auto Store" This will re-tune your digital channels :0)
just spoke to Samsung support and it turns out that the freeview tuner had froze and needed resetting. To do this put TV on standby and then push in series these buttons on the remote: 'info, menu, mute, power' the TV will then turn itself on and display a menu. Press the 'down arrow' untill you've highlighted option 12 - 'reset' and then press the 'right arrow' to enter the option. TV will turn off and when you turn back on it will start in 'plug & play' mode as if new. Set the time and country options and then it will perform a complete scan. I've just retuned mine and all back to normal. Hoorah!!!! :-)

Press the ENTER button again, to select "Country". 4. Select the appropriate country by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button. Press the ENTER button to confirm your choice. Even though you have changed the country setting in this menu, the country setting for Analogue TV is not changed. (Refer to page 11 of the user guide) 5. Press the ▲ or ▼ button again, to select "Auto Store". Press the ENTER button. When it has finished, the number of scanned services will be displayed. The existing favourite channel list will not be deleted when the channel list is updated. To stop the scan before it has finished, press the ENTER button with "STOP" selected. 6. Press the EXIT button to exit. If the signal status is poor, the "No Service found! Check the aerial connection" message is displayed. Check the aerial connection and the try the procedure again. If the channel icon is greyed out and you cannot tune the channels press the TV/DTV button on the remote control unit so that the icon is visible again and not greyed out. You need to use the (what looks like a large sattellite) button to retune your tv.
Some Samsung tv's let you access the button but other models have a "D MENU" button on the remote. Press this button, then scroll down to the icon that looks like a large sattellite. Then scroll across and click on "Auto Store" this will then go through all the available channels
