I plug the MP3 player into the computer via the USB port. The MP3 player initially shows full yellow in the charging status icon, but it only indicates charging for a minute or so and then indicates a full charge (white). Even though I leave it plugged into the computer (with the computer on) for hours, it dies on me when I use it. This was a Christmas (2007) gift and has not charged properly since new.
Plug it into the wall and have it ON when it is, I had the same problem and it was driving me crazy but when i tried that I only had it plugged in for the most being an 3-4 hours and itll last for a long time.
Try using the AC charger for the mp3 player, If It does the same thing, Ur MP3 is defective and u can return it with out the receitp sayin that it was a christmas gift since most eleftronics have a 1 year warranty
