Try an Old School RF switch for channel 3&4 if you can find one try raido shack

  • Anonymous Feb 23, 2008

well if your asking about the rf switch it should have a coax type plug.the way old type have all coax (coax meaning standard cable) plug ins .the new ones have coax + RCA jacks. set your system to channel 3 OR 4 plug your system into it set it to 3 or 4 and you may have to turn your tv to one of thoes channels or to aux if that dosn' t work for ya hit me up again.
no need to use the cussing here.thanx

When hooking a super Nintendo or an NES system or a sega genesis system to a digital tv you need av cables for it to work then instead of using an rf switch

Can't find the frequency for the genisis 1 sega megadrive, I have the RF converter but I've tried doing auto search and manual, just cant find it...

Hi some new TV'S may not have the frequency of these old consoles i recommend purchasing a AV cable which is can be found at http://www.gameoz.com.au/store/sega-mega-drive/mega-drive-accessories/sega-mega-drive-1-av-cable.html

Sega megadrive 2 never comes to black screen just snowstorm

Ensure that the switch on the back of the unit is set to channel 3 or 4, and that your TV is tuned to this channel. Additionaly, make sure that the rf switch is properly wired in to your television and that no wires have come loose or fallen out.

Ive got a black sega mega drive but cant seem to locate a channel.. am i doing something wrong with the wires

you need to have an old-ish tv...and you need to choose one channel, any one and tune it in...you need to keep going untill you either have a black screen or the game youve inserted..

TURN YOUR MEGADRIVE ON WHILE TUNING

if youve done that and you still dont have it it might be the wire

How do i connect a sega mega drive 2 to a tv?

use the RF lead (plugs into the mini din at the back of the megadrive)
if you don't have the lead you might want to look at ebay for a replacement
of if you don't want the hastle of tuning your megadrive into your tv you could buy a scart lead from www.retro-cache.com

With my sega megadrive11 system when tuned in only sound comes no picture

Hi Wisebear,

First It maybe your TV not tuning in properly.
to try this go to your TVs Tuning menu and select manual tuning and fine tune around the sound and see if this helps...

second it may be the lead (worn wire) and not enough signal getting through, so you need a new cable

you may just want to upgrade to a scart lead
www.retro-cache.com
sells the scart lead for Megadrive 2's and soon will be doing Megadrives 1's as well, both RGB.

Sega Genesis not showing a picture

As I had just a similar problem with my MegaDrive/Genesis maybe this helps: Try an older TV set. I am not joking. It might very well be the case that newer TV sets/high-end TV systems can't handle the signals of the older video game systems. I have a 100 hz TV set and whereas there are no problems with a SNES, with the MegaDrive I just had a black and white screen with bars running through it. On a 60 Hz TV set this problem does not occur. Keep in mind that there were no 100 hz/HDTV sets around when these video game systems were in general use.
