Sony dvd player error t99

Hi Nemegraff,
I have a Sony DVP- NC665P dvd player. I burned a dvd movie and noticed I could not play it on my player. I was getting a display code "T99". I believe the "T" stands for time on the dvd.
Anyway, to my surprise, I found out if I press the "top menu" button on my remote, the dvd will start from the movie's main menu screen....then just hit enter or play and the movie will play. My problem is solved. I hope this helps you.
best,
larry

Wont play dvd jensen vm9311

You can bypass all that. Here's how:

This will work without having to do anything to the pink wire - just tape it and leave it alone. But the next time you unhook your battery cable you will have to put the code in again.

Put in DVD
When the blue screen comes up, hit STOP twice on the remote
punch in 1,2,6, and 4
hit DOWN 1 time
hit PLAY/ENTER (although you can't see it, this turns off the parking brake bypass security feature)

**at this point the display became visible and you will now see the menu which makes it much easier.
hit DOWN one more time to change macrovision
hit PLAY/ENTER
hit SYS SETUP twice to save and exit menu

From now on, you can just put in a movie and it'll start - no more grounding or toggle switch procedure, and you don't have to use the e-brake.

Jensen dvd receiver model#vm9311ts

There isn't any code that I know of. Most DVD head units have one extra wire in their wiring harnesses, compared to a standard CD head unit. On mine, it's a peach-colored wire, and is the activation wire for the DVD feature. During the installation, the instructions call for this wire to be tapped into the emergency brake indicator light wire. The reason is this:

The e-brake indicator light is what is called a "ground complete" circuit. That means that the bulb always has power applied, but when you pull the brake, that puts a ground to the wire and completes the circuit, allowing it to illuminate. The head unit sees this ground, and activates the DVD player.

In my Jensen unit, I simply ran this wire to a ground (I used a screw near the fuse box), and I put a switch on the wire, so I could break the ground contact at will. Jensen calls for a procedure to activate DVD playback. In their instructions, they tell you to select DVD from the option menu, and when the "lawyer screen" comes up (the one warning you to park before you watch a movie), you release the e-brake for 3-5 seconds, and then reapply it. To simulate that with the switch I used, I leave the switch closed (activated), and select DVD. Then I flip the switch "off" for 3-5 seconds, and flip it back "on". This tricks the head unit into thinking I put the e-brake off for a few seconds and then put it back on, and the movie will start. Then I can drive away.

Basically, ground the wire that is used for DVD activation, and put a switch inline on it. Then you can break and reapply the ground in whatever manner is required by the manufacturer of your head unit. If there is no off/on sequence with yours, as there is with mine, simply ground the wire to a screw inside the dashboard and you're done.

Playing recordable dvd

My Emerson won't play anything except DVD Movies, never has, wasn't suppose too. Make your movies in DVD Video format and it will read them fine (unless it's broke). I make movies all the time and play them back in mine. It reads DVD-R, DVD+R, and in duel layered. It will not read RW disks!

Man I've every problem you can imagine with DVD Players. I've found when the disk gets stuck, as long as it's not jammed. You can turn the unit off or unplug it. Plug it back in but DON'T TURN IT ON! Instead hit the eject button and the drive should open the drive without trying to read the disk.

DVD PLAYER NOT READING DISC

Well I have been repairing dvd players a while now and the main problem spots are laser ,spindle motor, laser tracking motor and the biggest culprit and un suspecting one the lens cable .....most of them range from the lens cable to the spindle motor though... the constant movement of the lens in watching a whole movie causes the cable to unknowingly and slowly break and if the spindle motor is defective ,on inserting a dvd the disc spins slowly and you may hear the lens chirping ... so you can check those....

MY SAMSUNG DVD+VIDEO COMBO V4600

What you're describing is a common problem for this particular unit, a bad spindle motor. In some cases the motor can be removed by the tech and torn down for cleaning.. But in a high percentage of cases shops just replace the motor... What's happening, as your symptom appears the spindle motor is beginning to spin irratically. In turn the picture can sometimes just drop out. In others it simply folds over and is unwatchable. The spindle motor is not too expensive.. Good Luck Bill

Magnavox DVD player mwd200f

I would start by replacing the cable from the DVD player to the TV, sounds like a break in the cable, or the plugs are dirty, also, just a precaution, use a CD cleaner.
