If the TV is an AKAI, its likely the main board in the TV that needs to be replaced. The problem is, Akai USA is no longer in business. I use to work for their customer service department. They still have a website, www.akaiusa.com,
but there is no number for you to call to speak to someone. There is a
link on the site for parts and you can send an email asking if the main
board for that model is still available and what the price would be.
However, the price of the part, if it's still available, combined with
the labor charge to have the part installed will cost you more than
what a new 32" LCD would cost you in today's market. Today you can buy
a LCD that size for around $350.
If I were you, I'd save myself the aggravation of waiting for someone to respond to an email about a part that costs over $200 and I'd go shopping for a new TV.
