Re format How do you format amilo laptops? kinda confusing as sometimes its either f10 or alt + f10

Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

most laptops that have the factory load on them, you restart and press a combination of either ALT F10, F11 or CTRL F10, F11 or just F10 of F11 by itself at boot up.

You should get a restore type menu.

Try the below steps if the recovery partition is not corrupted:
Turn Off the computer. Now, when you turn ON the computer make sure you press the Alt key and tap on F10 key ie ALT+F10. It will go to the factory recovery screen. Choose full system restore or recovery and follow onscreen instruction.

Did your system come with installation CD's?

Windows is corrupt, and it needs to be reinstalled.

If your hidden partition is still in tact you can use the recovery function.

When you boot up the laptop press Shift + F10 when you see the Acer screen.

If that doesn't work try CTRL + F10 or ALT +F10 or Fn to F10

If you just want to format then you'll need a boot cd from any Operating System. XP, Vista, Linux, etc.

This is the only way to restore the system by switching on the laptop and before it show Acer on the press ALT + F10 in this order ALT + F10, ALT + F10 this will take you to the restore mode and from there you click on restore to factory defualt BUT if you formated the Data (d:\) drive then you have to buy vista and download the drivers from the internet

This is the only way I know to restore the OS 100% original
