How do i transfer videos from the panasonic palmcorder vdr-m30 to a macbook pro? iMovie does not appear to recognize the camera, and the software that came with the camera is Windows only.

Macbook pro doesnt recognize the panosonic pv-gs9 when connected with firewire

I take it that your macbook pro has imovie on it. If you open up imovie and plug in your camcorder it should recognise the camcorder and give you access to putting the movie onto your mac. Have a look at http://www.apple.com/support/imovie/ it should help.

I have a MacBook pro and no software for my computer to recognize this camera. Is there a place I can download the stuff I need.

The cord that comes with the camera is a USB cord. USB on this camera is used only for downloading still images. You need to get a Firewire cable and use that. Once you hook up the camera through Firewire, open up iMovie and turn the camera to VCR mode or turn it on. It should pop up with a window asking you to import.

I cannot get my VDR-50 to get recognized in XP

I have had a similar problem with my VDR-M50. Sometimes the software just doesn't want to "see" your camcorder. You just have to keep trying and eventually you'll get satisfaction.

This particular product is not satisfactory at all. It is riddled with imperfections and, no doubt, is driving customers to Canon, Sony or JVC. Take note, Panasonic!

Transfer to MacBook Pro from digital video camera

when you connect the camera to your mac via firewire, make sure you have an application open that will allow you to import the material.    The most common application being 'imovie'.
