I've been having the same problem with my new camera. The Canon memorry card that was supplied with it does not have a lock switch and yet the "card locked" comment keeps showing up. I can not do anything with this camera when this code shows up. I've tried a new card and it's still the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!I've been having the same problem with my new camera. On an SDHC card, there is a micro-switch on the left hand side, which sets the card as locked or unlocked. Move this to the unlocked position. The card may also need to be formatted in the camera.
On an SD card there is a switch at the side which can be moved to protect the card contents (locked) or permit writing to the card (unlocked). Just move this to the unlocked position.
Remove the SD Card from the camera. On the side of the card is usually a gray colored slide. The slide is probably in the lock position and you simply slide id down usually to unlock it.
Check this and re-insert card and turn camera on. If the card IS unlocked it is possible the card slot or the detection circuit is not working.
This used to happen occassionaly with my canon camers. Just use a peice of scotch tape or if you have one a small dab of hot glue to stop it from sliding.
Hi there. Turn the camera on and go into the setup menu, look down the list for "reset" and reset it, then try another camera card. Please post back the results.
I don't own this camera but My guess is your memory card is in a LOCK SETTING you need to move the memory card to unlocked " wrirte " so you memory card isn't locked.....
Step 1 remove the card from you're camera
Step 2 there is a small little side on the side of the memory chip move that to the unlock position.
step 3 insert the card and start shooting!
Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.
remove the memory card out of your camera and look to the side of it.. there is a little switch on the memory card that locks the card... try that first it might not be your camera... :) good luck :)
