KV-36FS100 TV DOES NOT COME ON .THERE IS NO SOUND OR PICTURE. BLINKING LIGHT IN FRONT OF TV BLINKS 5 TIMES THEN TWICE. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM? I HAVE TAKEN TV APART AND SEEN THAT THERE IS TWO BOARDS A SMALL ONE WHERE YOU TURN ON TV AND A BIG ONE WHERE YOU PUSH MENU ETC.

Good day! almost sony tv's has this picture blinking problem most of the time their is a problem in the Ik cuircuit. you should have your tv service by a qualified service technician.

The 2 blinks usually means an over current problem. This can be anything from a shorted horizontal output transistor to a shorted regulator. If you have no experience with TV repair, I would suggest you get a detailed estimate from a local servicer. If you have some experience, look for a shorted HOT or regulator and let me know what you find.

This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

My picture would go out after several minutes but I still had sound. I took the rear cover off and blew all the dust off with compresed air.I did this for a few times over several days nothing happened.I also took off the rear circuit board that attaches to the tube with a round pin socket and blew that with compressed air and put it back on. The TV has now worked for two days without the picture going out. It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My TV is 9 years old.

was there a smell? it might be main transformer the front blinking led means the set in is safety mode and wont boot up because of a fault

To have someone come to the house to repair you are looking at usually $75 service call plus $100 labor plus parts. If the circuit board needs to replaced it could be up to $200 to $300 for the board if it is still available, sony is going flat panel these days and parts for your set are fazing out. If you take it to a shop you will save money on pickup and delivery and make it easier for the tech to diagnose which should save you money.

5 Blinks usually means the horozontal circuit has problems and parts need to be replaced. unplug power to reset

5 Blinks ===> cause AKB circuit (AKB). Something is wrong with the video. check components on the C board, also check the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

5 times blinks is due to flyback transformer faulty or the short circuit in C board section.
