I have cobra ca61 desk mic i need it wired to my cobra 142 gtl home base. the base has 5 pins so i need my mic to be wired for 5 pin... any ideas?

Got a Cobra 21 XLR with a power mic. Where can I get a power cord or harness?

copper electronics .com or go to radio shack and buy one of theirs and some heavy duty wire and make up your own . Pick up two fuse holders and connect them to the pos and neg to make power done right.

How do i turn the watts up on a cobra 40x

L306 is the location.
You will need a pep reading watt meter and a dummy load.

This being a older unit and stored not powered up regularly it most likely will have dry or leaking capacitors. This unit could be a really headache and you may detune it if you just get in there turning screws. Now that you have been warned good luck and have fun.

Hello, I drive a century class and im trying to install a cobra cb radio but my truck already has the mount for it and the antenna cable and a black and a red type of screw in there what are does for?

You have the option to use the positive "red lug" and negative "black lug" for your own wires instead of the prewired harness if you chose. Be careful there are also sometimes additional connections with higher voltage for custom GPS units prewired. Wiring harness often have small labels.
When connecting wires installing positive first then negative is a good practice.

It should already be wired for that radio. Its a cobra mic, on a cobra radio, its all wired for cobra. Witch is a very common mic wiring.

My cb mic got pulled apart in truck accident how do i color code the wires to connect them back to the harness, that plug in the mic

1=shield
2=audio
3=TX
4=RX

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by wiring harness. If you are trying to wire it to power, and need the power wire, they are widely available. Its a universal plug for cb radios.

Ebay for around $5 search for CB power wire.

Truck stops usually carry stuff for cbs and they will most likely have one.

If you are talking about wiring the mic..... Just buy a mic for it already wired to the plug.
